Roadrunner manages 120-truck fleet operating long-haul routes across the Southeast and Midwest. We need a fleet manager to oversee daily operations: driver relationships, dispatch, DOT compliance, and customer communication. You don't need prior fleet management experience — if you have experience in logistics, transportation, or operations management, we'll teach you the specifics. Base is $105k with quarterly bonuses tied to fleet utilization and on-time delivery. We run a team of 12 dispatchers and 2 safety managers under this role. You'll own the morning huddle, handle escalations, and keep customers happy. Previous fleet managers from our org have gone on to run 300-500 truck operations. This is a proving ground.
Experience in logistics, transportation, or operations management (1-3 years); Comfortable managing a team of 8-12 direct reports; Strong organizational skills — you'll juggle 50+ trucks at a time; Clean driving record; Understanding of DOT regulations a plus but not required; Willingness to be on-call outside business hours for breakdowns and emergencies
